Phinda Mountain Lodge - Phinda Game Reserve, Kwa-Zulu Natal [South Africa]
Phinda Mountain Lodge lies within the Phinda Private Game Reserve, in the Maputaland region of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Bordering the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park – a World Heritage Site – Phinda comprises 18 500 hectares (45 711 acres) of prime conservation land. Seven distinct habitats shelter an abundance of wildlife including Africa’s Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo) and over 380 bird species, while the marine diversity off the nearby coast of Sodwana is said to rival the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
Rooms:
Phinda Mountain Lodge has 20 air-conditioned suites each with en suite bathroom comprising bath, shower, separate w.c and hand basins. All suites have a sitting area, personal bar and private deck.
Conferencing:
The well-equipped conference room holds 70 people and is air-conditioned. It is ideal for small management seminars and think tanks. You can also make use of the executive meeting room.
Activities:
Game drives, walks, rhino tracking, fishing, birding, kayaking, deep-sea fishing and horse riding make up some of the many activities available at Phinda.
Getting There:
Federal Air operates a daily flight from Johannesburg International Airport to Phinda Airstrip. Daily scheduled flights by SA Express from Johannesburg International Airport to Richards Bay Airport. Transfers from Richards Bay Airport to Phinda are available by road (approximately two hours) or by light aircraft (approximately 30 minutes). Transfer by road from Durban International Airport to Phinda in an air-conditioned minibus (three hours) and a one-hour air transfer is also available.
