Set on the sunset side of the longest white sand beach on the island, Sugar Beach Resort is built in the style of the old Mauritian sugar plantations, this luxury resort combines a fascinating blend of colonial architecture, great romantic ambience, gracious lifestyle, incomparable recreational facilities and superlative service to create a unique tropical island holiday experience.

Rooms

The luxury accommodation at Sugar Beach Resort is divided into rooms in the gracious Manor House, and in the sixteen adjacent Creole-styled Beach Villas, some of which are no more than 30 metres from the beach. All rooms are fully air-conditioned and feature en-suite bathrooms with showers, hairdryer, television with Canal Plus, Sky News and video channels in four languages, IDD telephone, electronic safe, mini-bar and furnished patio or balcony. All guest rooms have one king-size or two twin beds. 83 have two double beds, which is ideal for families of up to four.

Conferencing

Located conveniently at the entrance of the resort, and with the backdrop of the magnificent mountains, the Conference Centre of the Sugar Beach Resort can host the smallest of meetings to the grandest conferences. The conference centre has an area of 294 square meters for seating 200 delegates in classroom parallel style and up to 360 in cinema style. This makes the new centre one of the largest available on the island. The centre is fully equipped with state-of-the-art presentation, documentation and office automation systems.

Aqua gym, basket polo, water polo, glass-bottom boat, kayaks - single & double, paddle boats, lasers, snorkelling, water-skiing, sea ski, windsurfing, parasailing, super tube, scuba diving (PADI certified), deep sea fishing, croquet on the manor house lawn, floodlit tennis courts, giant chess, gym clinic, mountain bike rental, table tennis and volleyball.

Getting There

Easy access by road from the airport, which in turn has excellent access from Europe and South Africa.

Best Time To Travel

Good all year round though can be windy and occasionally wet between December and April.

Health

No specific risks, as Mauritius is malaria free.
