Day 1

On arrival at Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, check in for the Safarilink scheduled charter flight departing at 10h00 to Negerende in  Masaai Mara.

On arrival you will be met and transferred to Saruni Mara. Saruni is the new, deluxe and intimate tented lodge set in a private conservation area outside the Masai Mara Game Reserve. With accommodation for only twelve guests in six spectacular tented cottages, it is set in a remote valley at the heart of the most exciting wilderness of Kenya. Saruni offers a new concept of African safari: the thrill of a real African adventure lived in harmony with the Masai warriors coupled with high standards of style and comfort. The tents are furnished with colonial antiques, Persian carpets and African art. The atmosphere at the camp is informal but elegant.

Guests are able to explore the plains, mountains and rivers of the Mara aboard open Land Rovers and on foot, walking with guides and Masai trackers. It's the new Masai Mara without the minibuses but with the small luxuries that have always been part of the old safari.

The camp is the home of a cosmopolitan European couple, a writer and a doctor, who have chosen to share their dream with a few guests.  The camp works in a close relationship with the Masai and has a low impact on the environment thanks to the use of solar power and the recycling of waste.

The scenery varies from rolling hills dotted with acacias, to lesser known mountains, rivers and valleys where the vegetation can be very green and lush. The Masai Mara is, above all, the home of the Masai, a traditional semi-nomadic people known for their beauty.

Spend three nights at Saruni Mara on a full board basis, including all meals, local drinks, house wine, laundry and activities.

Day 4

Enjoy morning and lunch at Saruni before being transferred to the Ngerende airstrip in time to connect with the Mombasa Air flight departing at 14h00 to Ukunda. On arrival you will be transferred to Alfajiri Beach Villa.

Alfajiri Beach Villa overlook the Indian Ocean with the elevated position ensuring privacy and stunning views. A large veranda under a massive makuti roof, ocra Danish floors, wooden beams, Lamu doors and impressive artefacts all reflect the outstanding attention to detail and high standard of interior design. Most of the furniture is made in the family run workshop and the gardens are meticulously maintained and include many palms from the villa’s nursery. The villa has its own swimming pool.

The Beach Villa is informal and very romantic, open to the sea breezes and under a makuti roof. It has two luxuriously appointed double bedrooms with their own bathroom. One of them overlooks the Indian Ocean, and the other the overflowing swimming pool. Two additional rooms, upstairs under the makuti roof, provide exciting accommodation for children only. There is no bathroom at this level, so children would share one of the two bathrooms below.  All rooms have mosquito nets and are cooled by fans (there is no air conditioning).

Alfajiri has twenty five experienced staff catering to guests’ every need, ensuring the very best service and your villa has its own personal butler. Diani Beach is considered one of the best in Kenya and it is possible to walk for five miles to the north and five miles to the south. Fresh seafood is brought in daily including crab, prawns and lobster and your meal requirements each day are discussed with the owner.

While staying at Alfajiri, all meals, imported wines, beers spirits, soft drinks, airstrip transfers and laundry are included as well as snorkelling using a local African boat to the coral reef, massage and reflexology. A vehicle with driver is at your disposal within Diani as well as the beach area, tennis, squash and a health club are also included as well as golf at the nearby eighteen hole course, inclusive of green fees, caddies fees and clubs.

Additional activities can be easily arranged locally, including PADI diving and diving courses, kite surfing, jet ski dolphin safari and mangrove bird watching, deep-sea fishing (marlin, sailfish, shark, tuna etc.) - world record marlin can be sought in the Pemba Channel some forty five km away. Safaris can be organized from Alfajiri Villas including a safari to Tsavo East National Park or an exclusive walking safari at Galdessa Camp. Excursions to the nearby Kisite Marine National Park and to Funzi Island are also options.

Spend three nights at Alfajiri in the Beach Villa.

Day 7

You will connect with a Safarilink flight from Ukunda to Nairobi Wilson Airport and then  transferred to Jomo Kenyatta  Airport for your onward flight.
