This unique itinerary combines a six night clasic tented safari through the Luangwa Valley, followed by two nights at the famous 'Africa House' Shiwa Ng'andu Estate and then two to three nights on the beach on Lake Tanganyika, Zambia's northern inland sea.
Stage 1 - The Nort Luangwa Mobile (six nights)
The first six nights are spent on a classic tented mobile safari through the extremely remote and wildlife rich North Luangwa National Park. Your safari starts with two nights on the Luangwa River, followed by two nights inland in the middle of the National Park on a tributary called the Mulondoshi and finally two nights are spent in the escarpment along the Mwaleshi River.
Activities during this part of your trip include game drives (day and night) and great walking safaris.
Stage 2 - Africa House, Shiwa Ng'andu (two nights)
The seventh and eighth nights are spent at Shiwa Ng'andu, an English Manor house set in the middle of the Northern Zambian bush on a private 22,000 acre game reserve.
Activities on the estate include: historical tours of the Estate (est 1914), horseriding, walks, birding, game drives, fishing and visits to the amazing Kapishya Hot Springs.
Stage 3 - Lake Tanganyika (two or three nights)
Lake Tanganyika the second largest freshwater lake in the world by volume and the second deepest, after Lake Baikal in Siberia. The last two or three nights of your trip will be spent at Isanga Bay Lodge on the southern shores of the lake. The lodge is set in a beautiful location with its own private beach.
Activities include kayaking, boating, fishing, snorkelling and tubing.
